The Perama Project is an important investment expected to contribute significantly towards improving the economy of Thrace, employment and standard of living in the area, while also protecting the environment and the welfare of citizens.

The Perama Project will generate about 570 Million Euro of revenue and a significant portion of this amount will be spent in Thrace. Approximately 70% of the capital investment (72 million euro) and 100% of the operating costs (158 million euro) are expected to remain in Greece, precisely in the area of Thrace, in the form of salaries, services, suppliers, engineering works, transportation, power, etc, in addition to the taxes generated by the operation which are estimated at 100 million euros. Direct company social and sustainable projects to the communities surrounding the project will add to the benefits realized from the project.

The Perama project, according to the social cost-benefit analysis (from Athens Technical University, 2003, prof. K. Panagopoulos, D. Kaliampakos), is considered to be socially accepted, under economic rules. The environmental dimension was also taken into account in the analysis. The Social NPV and RR that were estimated in social base, are remained positive in any assessment case.
