Mine Closure & Rehabilitation
The conservation, protection and preservation of the natural and cultural environment are of fundamental importance
The project closure plan must satisfy good international practice to ensure the health and safety of company employees and residents of the area
The main closure plan components are:
Decommissioning and demolition of the plant and ancillary facilities
Open pit partial backfilling, re-contouring
Waste dump removal, drainage facility installation and area re-vegetation

The plan estimates an 18-month decommissioning and closure period for all mine and site infrastructure and will be updated during the project's life
Overall period of five years is estimated for environmental compliance monitoring
Closure and rehabilitation costs of the entire intervention area estimated to be 16 million euro
Final land use for the project area will be forestry and conservation
Re-vegetation will begin at the start of the project with topsoil removal and storage and the establishment of a nursery
The company will guarantee the rehabilitation cost with the deposition of a letter of credit before the project's construction.
Upon meeting all of the requirements of Government, the site will be released back to community for its agreed after use.
